Welcome to our Teaching Academy

The Teaching Academy is dedicated to help you improve your golf game. A private teaching area away from the main driving range makes for fewer distractions. Several target greens at varying distances provide real course simulation and our putting and chipping greens with practice bunker, allows golfers of all skill levels to practice every part of their short game.

Our capable teaching staff, using the latest swing analysis video software, gives you a "better" before and after look at you swing, as helpful swing corrections are made to improve your playing experience.

As Head Golf Professional at Stanley Golf Course, I invite you to review the various adult and junior lessons we offer to help improve game. We will do are very best to insure your instructional experience results in lower scores and more consistent enjoyment on the golf course.





We believe it is important to connect with our students by communicating in a way that is interesting, easy to understand, and achievable. Our teaching philosophy caters around the student’s learning style and physical characteristics such as body structure, flexibility and strength.  With the use of video, drills and teaching aids our students learn how to improve their game and reach a more rewarding level of play.

    Things to know about taking a lesson! 

YOUR APPOINTMENT

It is recommended that all lessons be booked in advance to assure availability of instructors. Please call 860-827-8570 to schedule your lesson with one of our qualified instructors. If you cannot keep the appointment, please call and cancel as soon as possible. Please arrive 10 - 15 minutes prior to your lesson to give ample time to warm up.

PLEASE BRING

Bring your own golf clubs.  We understand that many students may not have their own clubs, so we will provide them for you during the lesson if necessary. If you do not own clubs, your professional instructor will suggest clubs that will properly fit you. Wear golf shoes or sneakers.

YOUR EXPECTATIONS

Please be aware that the excitement following a lesson is high and natural. Please don’t expect all of your problems to disappear after one or two lessons. The golf swing takes time to develop, and in some cases more time to un-train and redevelop.  We are confident we can improve your swing and golf game, but it is important to stay patient.
