Greg's Biography

Greg Yeomans, Head Golf Professional

Greg is a class " A " member of the PGA and comes to us from Sterling Farms Golf Club in Stamford, CT. While at Sterling Farms for the past two years, Greg gained respect and admiration for his ability to teach all levels of players, in addition to a becoming a leader in all golf shop operations. Prior to his tenure at Sterling Farms Golf Club, Greg spent the previous four years at prestigious Black Hall Club in Old Lyme, CT as the 1st Assistant Professional. Greg gained instant respect amongst the professionals in the state with his wire-to-wire victory in the 1996 Assistant's Championship culminating in being named Assistant Professional Player of the Year.

Greg continued to display high levels of ability winning the 1997 Tournament of Champions and the Assistant's Match Play Championship in 1998. Most recently, Greg, along with his amateur partner won the Whitey Voight Pro-Am Championship this past fall of 2001. It is clear the Greg has been able to maintain a solid game along with the many other areas of responsibility in the golf business. Professionally, Greg continues to educate himself by attending numerous seminars designed to enhance a professional's effectiveness. This can be represented by the fact that Greg was nominated for Assistant Professional of the Year for outstanding achievement in golf for 1998 and 1999 in the Connecticut Section.

Greg has also been awarded the Titleist Scholarship for accelerated advancement and exemplarily test scoring while moving through the Golf Professional Training Program (GPTP). Greg graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1995 with a degree in Economics. While at UConn Greg played and captained the golf team from 1992-1995 with his career highlighted by being named the 1995 New England College Player of the Year. Greg achieved many awards on the golf course, but around UConn is still best remembered for being a "walk-on" to the 1994-95 men's basketball team. The year UConn lost to UCLA in the elite eight. Greg currently resides in Stratford, CT is married to wife Ann, and they have a son named Jacob.
